DawaPlus® 3.0

Long-lasting co-insecticide netting

TANA Netting DawaPlus 3.0 PBO optimized yarnBuilding on the success of the widely used DawaPlus® 2.0 LLINs, subsequent innovation has resulted in the new generation of DawaPlus® nets – DawaPlus® 3.0 and DawaPlus® 4.0 – using proprietary dual-insecticide release technology to improve nets efficacy.

Designed specifically for regions in which mosquitoes have developed metabolic resistance to pyrethroid insecticides, the PBO co-insecticide helps to suppress the resistance mechanism, allowing the insecticide to recover its efficacy.

Incorporation of Piperonyl butoxide (PBO) into the roof of DawaPlus® 3.0 netting

The new generation DawaPlus® 3.0 offers long-lasting co-insecticide netting. Piperonyl butoxide (PBO) is incorporated into the roof of the netting, with the sides of deltamethrin coated polyester.

The PBO is a co-insecticide, considerably enhancing the effectiveness of the primary insecticide, here deltamethrin, by suppressing the mosquito’s enzyme defenses. We optimize each yarn to release either PBO or deltamethrin. This way we can ensure a proper ratio of the co-insecticide and the primary insecticide during the lifetime of the net.
