BANGKOK – Ongon Tanthai, Head of Business Development and Sales, participated at last month’s Africa Day 2009 held at the Bangkok Convention Center, to present valuable information on doing business in Africa. Representing one of three private companies who have successfully penetrated the African market, Ongon presented audience members with a history of Tana Netting and shared some of her stories of doing business on the continent.
“A great way to approach the market is by partnering with other companies to minimize risks, tap synergies, and improve negotiating power,” Ongon said. In her more than six years with Tana Netting, Ongon has sought to expand the company’s reach in Africa to boost sales and promote public health.
Africa Day 2009 was organized by Thailand’s Ministry of Commerce to provide information to companies interested in doing business in Africa. The event featured best practices discussing and sought to provide participants to an introduction about the cultural and regulatory differences that exist between Thailand and the continent.
The event also included speeches by representatives of the Ministry of Commerce who have worked in various countries in Africa and Ambassadors of five different African countries to Thailand. |
