NRS International, parent company of TANA Netting, recently submitted its Communication on Progress (COP) report to the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) for the period February 2017 to February 2018. The Global Compact is a UN initiative that encourages businesses worldwide to adopt sustainable and socially responsible policies, and to report on their implementation through an annual COP.
The 2017-2018 COP describes the profile of NRS International and its subsidiaries TANA Netting, NRS Relief and its manufacturing arm H. Sheikh Noor-ud-Din & Sons; our work towards the 10 UNGC Principles and a more sustainable business; and our commitments to the Sustainable Development Goals. The report also includes TANA Netting’s measurable approach to sustainability through the publication of our first report (2016) based on the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards. Using GRI’s social, economic and environmental indicators allows us to accurately chart our contribution towards the SDGs and to identify areas for improvement moving forward. We are currently in the process of publishing the second GRI-referenced report (2017).
According to Global Compact’s differentiation level, our report meets all requirements and qualifies for the Global Compact Active Level. We aim to improve policy implementation and increase transparency to achieve the Global Compact Advanced Level by February 2019.
