DawaPlus® LLINs are produced in a unique end-of-the-line treatment process developed in a public-private partnership between Tana Netting, NetMark (a project of USAID) and Bayer Environmental Science. Our closed treatment system ensures a safe and comfortable working environment and has zero impact on the environment. The treatment technology can be easily transferred to existing net manufacturing operations, and Tana Netting is exploring options with our partners to develop this vital technology on the African continent.

The Tana Netting Factory
DawaPlus® is produced at Tana Netting's state-of-the-art production facility conveniently located about an hour outside of Bangkok, near Thailand's main air and sea ports. The facility's annual production capacity is 3 million LLINs, with plans to scale up to 10 million LLINs per year in the near future.

The Tana Netting factory has been built with the comfort and safety of our over 130 employees in mind - workers enjoy a bright, airy and green environment, with plenty of spaces to relax. Daily lunch and transportation are provided free of charge.

Step 1: Laying and Cutting

After netting material is received at the factory and inspected by the Quality Assurance Team, the Laying and Cutting Team carefully measures and cuts the fabric to meet stringent specifications for each net. QA inspectors randomly check the dimensions of the pieces at this stage to ensure that high levels of quality are achieved.

Step 2: Sewing

DawaPlus® LLINs are treated at the end of the line. This means that our sewing staff never handle chemically-treated textiles. Tana Netting's sewing department uses top-of-the-line equipment to produce our rectangular, conical and hammock nets. Regular Quality Assurance inspections ensure that net dimensions and seam strengths meet Tana Netting's rigorous quality standards.

Step 3: Treatment

The treatment of DawaPlus® LLINs takes place in a washer/dryer system placed at the end of the production line. This closed system ensures a consistent quality product, eliminates insecticide odors from the factory, and ensures that no chemicals are released into the environment. In addition, treating DawaPlus® during the post-production phase means that the technology is easily transferred to existing operations.

Step 4: Packaging

After treatment, DawaPlus® LLINs are folded and packed into high-quality plastic packaging and compressed into convenient, compact bales of 25, 50 or 100 units. Tana Netting's small bale sizes means that Tana Netting is able to ship up to 30% more than other LLIN manufacturers, enabling more product to reach consumers more quickly and saving donors and companies money on shipping costs.
