TANA Netting introduces new-generation DawaPlus® 3.0 mosquito net

Building on the tried and tested success of its existing DawaPlus® products, TANA Netting proudly introduces its latest product innovation – the DawaPlus® 3.0 co-insecticide long-lasting insecticidal nets (LLINs).

As one of the world’s largest suppliers of WHO pre-qualified LLINs, we have extensively collaborated across the private and public sectors, with academia, and with the beneficiaries themselves. Our new DawaPlus® 3.0 product directly addresses challenges currently being faced in the fight against malaria and other vector-borne diseases.

The new-generation LLINs

DawaPlus® 3.0 uses proprietary dual-insecticide release technology to improve nets efficacy. Designed specifically for regions in which mosquitoes have developed metabolic resistance to pyrethroid insecticides, the Piperonyl butoxide (PBO) co-insecticide helps to suppress the resistance mechanism, allowing the insecticide to be recover its efficacy. DawaPlus® 3.0 incorporates this advanced netting into the roof of the net, with the sides of deltamethrin coated polyester. The PBO is a co-insecticide, considerably enhancing the effectiveness of the primary insecticide, here deltamethrin, by suppressing the mosquito’s enzyme defenses. Each yarn is optimized to release either PBO or deltamethrin plus PBO. This way, we can ensure a proper ratio of the co-insecticide and the primary insecticide during the lifetime of the net.
