Being part of the Social Impact Summit, the leading social impact and sustainability event in the Middle East held in Dubai for the past 14 years, the 2018 Ta’atheer Social Impact Awards aims to offer recognition to organizations that have contributed to the development of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) agenda in the MENA region.

As a manufacturer of long-lasting insecticidal nets, TANA Netting envisions a sustainable future free from malaria through its continuous supply and development of products that protect the lives of malaria-stricken populations around the world, while engaging the industry in deeper discussions on the sustainability of its supply chains.

Responsible business approach

Our CSR activities reflect the responsible business approach that we adopted, in which local economic empowerment is treated as a long-term social investment. The ‘DawaPlus: Made in Africa’ project in Nigeria, where localized production of LLINs was implemented, aims to serve affected communities and create social development through local employment. We also have an all-female production unit in Pakistan, a country where women represent 25% of total labor force, ensuring a dignified income source.

Furthermore, we adopted the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards for sustainability reporting as a tool to track our own progress and foment transparency among our peers.

Supporting SDG12: Responsible Consumption and Production

Supporting our CSR vision, the Social Impact Summit 2018 presentations will focus on reframing business models to integrate sustainability, activating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as strategy driver for improved impact and achieving transparency through mandatory reporting, among other important topics. Our main focus for environmental impact reduction lies on the efficiency of our processes. We are driven by SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, and our goal is to be as responsible LLINs supplier as we can to the malaria-control community.
